EMIS Web and TPP SystmOne Admin Approval

Warning

This section applies only to practices that have both EMIS Web and TPP SystmOne running simultaneously. If your practice uses only EMIS Web, please see EMIS Admin Approval. If your practice uses only TPP SystmOne, please see SystmOne TPP Admin Approval.

After registration, the conneQt® Toolbar must be approved within both EMIS Web and TPP SystmOne.

EMIS Admin Approval

To approve within EMIS Web, perform the following steps:

Step 1 – Activate the Application

  1. Load EMIS Web.
  2. Navigate to: EMIS Ball > System Tools > EMAS Manager.
  3. Go to the Partner API tab (bottom-left of screen).
  4. Select Quicksilva conneQt® Toolbar from the partner API list (it will show a red cross).
  5. Click "Activate Application" at the top.

Step 2 – Set Up User Access

Note

This may not be required at your site.

  1. Navigate to: EMIS Ball > System Tools > EMAS Manager.
  2. Go to the Partner API tab (bottom-left of screen).
  3. Select Quicksilva conneQt® Toolbar (now showing a green tick).
  4. Click "Edit Users" along the top.
  5. Find the user > tick the box next to their name > configure access > create a password > click OK.

Step 3 – Allow User Login

  1. In the same Partner API screen as Steps 1 and 2, click "Login Access" along the top.
  2. Find the user and select both "Allow Login" and "Auto Login".
  3. Click OK.
  4. The user must log out of EMIS and log back in for changes to take effect.

Step 4 – Activate the Product

  1. Once logged back into EMIS, launch the conneQt® Toolbar.
  2. The "Activate New Partner Product" box will appear.
  3. Enter normal EMIS username and password, then click "Activate".
  4. A confirmation pop-up will confirm the product is activated.
  5. If other software at your site also uses the Toolbar, repeat Steps 1 to 4 for each.
Important

If activation fails, it may be due to multiple EMIS sessions being open. Close all open EMIS sessions, open a single EMIS session and retry.

SystmOne TPP Admin Approval

The first time the conneQt® Toolbar attempts to connect with SystmOne, an approval prompt will appear. To avoid users encountering a message stating that approval is pending with no option to action it, a SystmOne administrator should be the first person to launch the Toolbar after installation.

How it Works

When the conneQt® Toolbar connects to SystmOne for the first time, SystmOne will display an approval prompt. The behaviour of this prompt differs depending on the user's account type:

  • Standard users will see a message stating that approval is required, but will not have the option to approve it themselves.
  • SystmOne administrators will see the same message, but with an "Approve" button.

Once an administrator has approved the Toolbar, all other users will be presented with their own approval prompt on their next attempt, this time with the "Approve" button available. After a user approves, they will not see the prompt again.

Approval Process

  1. Ensure a SystmOne administrator is logged in.
  2. Open a patient record in SystmOne.
  3. Initiate an action that triggers the conneQt® Toolbar (for example, looking up a patient in a connected application).
  4. When the approval prompt appears, click "Approve".
  5. Once approved, instruct each remaining user to repeat steps 2–4 using their own account. Each user must individually approve the Toolbar on their first use.

Device Manager Approval (if required)

If the Device Approval pop-up appears in SystmOne but the option to approve is missing, this is likely because the current user account does not have the necessary permissions to approve devices. To resolve this:

  1. Log back in to SystmOne using an account with administrative permissions.
  2. Navigate to Setup > Mobile Working & Integration > Device Manager.
  3. Check the Waiting for Approval or Blocked folders for a device named conneQt® Toolbar.
  4. Select the device and click "Approve".
  5. Once approved, log back in with the original user account and reattempt the action.

Next Steps

Once approval is complete in both systems, proceed to EMIS Configuration.
